a crispy chickpea caesar

Start by making the crispy chickpeas. Then, if you can resist snacking on them all, use them as a topping for a very crunchy and creamy salad.

A beetroot sauce for beet lovers and doubters alike — enjoy with pasta, tossed through grains, or as a dressing for hearty salads. Perfect for using up those cold-stored beets you still wanna eat!

roast squash, brothy beans, and tender wilted radicchio

Roast kabocha squash and brothy simmered beans make a cosy pair in this comforting autumn-meets-winter radicchio and hazelnut dish. Just add warmth, care, a little time and attention, and the meal practically makes itself.

green lentils, fast and slow

I love lentils. Cooked from dry, they’re a great way to bulk out meat, poultry, and fish (when it comes to animal products, a good rule of thumb is less but better — accompanying them with pulses is a wonderful way to accomplish this). For them to really shine, all they need is a little love and time.

leek latkes! oh so crisp and crunchy on the outsid leek latkes! oh so crisp and crunchy on the outside, oh so meltingly mellow on the inside… perfection itself. took a few hasty pictures mid-munch as I did not want to let these go cold before I ate them (same for the soft-boiled egg). served ‘em hot with a cool shmear of garlicky skyr, then quickly topped them with dill, chives + crushed red chili before savouring each & every bite with satisfaction and glee
celeriac, rubbed in a lick of oil and scrubbed wit celeriac, rubbed in a lick of oil and scrubbed with salt, roasted for four hours then left to cool — just a really nice way of enjoying the root. peeled and cut into wedges + plated with orange segments, iced rings of thinly sliced boiler onion, frescatrano olives, capers & mint. plus a bit of freshly squeezed orange juice, flaky salt, dried chili, and evoo to top it all off. a real delight!

back from a long winter break with a sweet farewel back from a long winter break with a sweet farewell to pomegranates, until next season 🤧💗 february is basically the last chance one gets to savour these precious iridescent ruby jewels fresh!! wonderful in so many ways — like in a cauliflower citrus salad, over buckwheat rice porridge, with zesty parsnips & carrots, or intermingled with feta + grapefruit in a fennel slaw — they also freeze quite well (I love them frozen over yogurt with breakfast in the morning!), so you bet I’ll be deseeding and freezing some arils for later before it’s too late ✨🙂‍↕️
